Mia had her puppies

June 30th, 2008

As most of you already knew, Mia went out whoring and managed to get herself knocked up.  She had the puppies this morning (starting at 3:00 AM.)  There are 11 total.  Also, we think we know who the father is.  April and Paul went to Disney and left their Golden Retriever with Richard right at the right time for her to have conceived, and Mia spent a lot of time over there during that period, so I now have someone to blame for the pile of puppies in my closet.  Thanks April :(

Anyway, we took pictures of the whole birthing process, and we will take more as they grow.  They are in the Mahr Family Photo album to the left, or click here

** Update ** - Added new photos to the album on July 10th, 2008

** Update 2 ** - Added new photos of the puppies again July 23rd.  They are now 3 weeks old

** Update 3 ** - Bad me :(   Forgot to add photos of 4 and 5 weeks old, and a few of them at 6 weeks old.   Added them on Agust 11th

Happy (really late) Easter!

April 7th, 2008

I forgot to upload the pictures from Easter day to the photo album until today.  They are all on there now.  There are some really good ones of the kids at Swan Lake.  The are in the Mahr Family Photo album.  Enjoy!!

Happy Early Easter

March 13th, 2008

Updated March 16, 2008 - Went to the feed store today for food for Ninja, and they had their Easter babies there, so I had to look.  I spent 10 minutes watching them, and decided it was time to replace a few of ones we lost to the snake last year.  The white chick is a Silkie Bantam, and tan and brown chick is a Rhode Island Red, and the duck is a Pekin.  Ninja immediately took to them, and has been letting them roost with her since we put them in the pen with her.  Even the duck!  They are the cutest little shits.  There is a new album in the Mahr Family Photo Album (<--click) devoted to them.  There is also a video of the ducklings first swim in the bath tub  (<–Right click, save as.)  I’ll update the pictures when they have names…

Update 1 - The babies are all named.  I edited the descriptions under the pictures with their names.  Also, after putting them in the pen with Ninja she started laying eggs again.  So far it has been 1 egg a day, so we have 3 eggs.  She hadn’t laid since the last chicken died (last May.)

2007 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

October 21st, 2007

We spent yesterday (Oct 20th) participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  Collectively, our team raised $360.00 for Breast Cancer research.  We walked the 5k (3.1 miles) in 1 hour 22 minutes.  Along with our family, there were Richard and Cheyenne, April, Paul, and their 3 kids, and April’s friend Stephanie and her daughter Chloe.  We had a good time, and did something for a good cause.  There are pictures of the race and some pictures of the group at April’s house here (minus Stephanie and Chloe.)  Thank all of our friends and family who made this possible!

Cruise to Cozumel

July 27th, 2007

Sabrina and I took a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico the 12th through the 17th of this month. There were no kids, no work, and no phone calls, so in other words we had a great time! A word of advice though, if you are going to Mexico, make sure you let your bank know you are leaving the country so they don’t put a lock on your credit card. We had a very hairy few hours trying to figure out how to get from Florida to South Carolina with 40 bucks between us. Luckily, the folks at the Radisson were nice enough to cash a check for us. Anyway, there are lots of pictures of the trip in the Mahr Family photo album. Enjoy!!

Trip to Washington, D.C.

July 2nd, 2007

Sabrina had an appointment at Johns Hopkins University Hospital Friday, so we took the kids and friends up to Baltimore and Washington D.C. for the weekend.  We saw the White House, Washington Monument, the Capitol Building, and 3 of the Smithsonian Museums.  We took almost 150 pictures.  They are in the Mahr Family photo album, or here if you are lazy.  Enjoy!!

Marissa’a Band Concert

November 17th, 2006

Marissa had her first band concert on Tuesday.  I finally managed to transfer it to the computer.  The quality is crappy and the file is huge, so it may take a while to load.   Click the pic to watch it.  Enjoy…

Another chicken

November 15th, 2006

I finally got the Silkie bantam I’ve been wanting.  That brings the total chicken count to 4.  I now have Podo, Ninja, Goldie, and Cotton.  Thanks to Pina, Kodo, Voodoo, and Hawn are no longer with us.  The cage has been fixed so the chicken killer can’t get them anymore.  There are new pics of Cotton in the photo album if you’re interested…

All of the photo albums are back online

November 8th, 2006

I added all of the photo albums to this new site.  You can get to them by clicking the links to the left.  If you have any problems with them please let me know so I can fix it.  I’ll be adding more new stuff when I get the chance so check back often.

New site design

November 8th, 2006

Hey everybody.  You may or may not know, but I attempted to upgrade the software that runs the website and lost almost all of the old site.  While I was in the process of rebuilding it I decided to go ahead and change the software altogether.  This is a much simpler format to manage so hopefully I won’t have near as many problems as before.  I will attempt to get the photo albums and such back online in the next day or 2.  Enjoy the new site…
